Roku just announced a ton of new stuff, including version 10.5 of the Roku OS and lots of new streaming devices. One of the standout features of Roku OS 10.5 is the ability to search for Spotify with your voice at the operating system level, which makes searching for music and podcasts much faster.

Roku OS 10.5 is coming

Roku is making some significant improvements to voice controls with the latest version of its operating system. Now almost all Roku Search channels support voice, including Netflix and Spotify. That means you can find music and podcasts using your voice (or typing) directly at the operating system level, rather than having to navigate to the Spotify app. The same goes for services like Netflix.

Music and podcasts are are becoming a more important part of the Roku experience. The company is launching Roku Search Music and Podcast Row. When you search on Roku, you’ll see music and podcasts separate from the other results, making it easier to find what you want.

If you use the Roku free channels , you can now add the ones you like directly to the home screen, making accessing the ones you see all the time quicker and easier.

The Roku mobile app is also getting some improvements. You will be able to adjust the sound settings on your Roku hardware from the mobile app. You can also use the app to make sure your delay is set correctly for wireless headsets.

Some other notable features of Roku OS 10.5 include new configurations of surround sound , Roku Voice Help, and enhancements to the Vvice entry for email, password and PIN for

screen . It’s a substantial update and one that Roku device owners should be excited about.

New Roku streaming hardware

Roku also announced a host of new hardware for people looking to upgrade. The company released a new Roku Streaming Stick 4K, which is faster and more powerful than the previous version. Costs $ 49.99 and has support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 +. It even has a voice remote with TV controls. It is scheduled to launch in mid-October 2021.
