Apple is having a busy day as the company just release iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1 to users , and now it has released macOS Monterey for everyone. This means that you can download and install it on your Mac right now.
macOS Monterey was released as a beta some time ago, so we’ve had a lot of time to experience the features it brings to the table . There’s a lot to be excited about, so if you’re a Mac user with an eligible device, it’s definitely worth taking the time to upgrade.
As mentioned, you will need to have a Eligible Mac to get this update. The list of computers that can download the operating system is extensive, so you should be able to run it unless you have an older computer. Here is the complete list of computers that can handle macOS Monterey:
- iMac (Late 2015 and later)
- iMac Pro (2017 and later)
- Mac Pro (Late 2013 and later)
- Mac Mini (Late 2014 and later)
- MacBook Pro (Early 2015 and later)
- MacBook Air (Early 2015 and later)
- MacBook (early 2016 and later)
Unfortunately, some of the cool features in macOS Monterey, like Universal Control and SharePlay, not ready for release , so you will have to wait until a future version of Monterey arrives to test them.
For download update , go to “System Preferences”, then “Software Update”. Once there, you should see the option to install macOS Monterey. Give it a little time and you are ready to enjoy the latest that Apple has to offer.
