WhatsApp is an extremely popular messaging service, but for a long time it was not possible to transfer data between iPhone and Android. Fortunately, WhatsApp now offers this feature . We will show you how to transfer your chat history.
Unlike many messaging services, WhatsApp does not keep your chat history in the cloud. When you log into a new device, your old conversations won’t be there . This is why the ability to transfer chats between devices is so important. Let’s do it.
Note: You will need a couple of things. First, the Android device must be running Android 12 and, most importantly, still cannot be configured . The transfer process should be done during the initial phone setup process.
You will need a piece of hardware for this to work: a USB-C to Lightning cable. If you don’t have one, you can buy one for about $ 15 on Amazon .
We’ll start with your shiny new Android phone that hasn’t been set up yet. Connect the device to the iPhone with the USB cable. During the setup process, you will be asked to trust the “Computer”, your Android phone. Touch “Trust” on the iPhone.
Next, you will be asked what you want to restore from iPhone. Make sure to select “Applications” and then “WhatsApp Messenger.”
At this point, you will see a QR code, which you can scan with your iPhone camera to open WhatsApp.
If the QR code doesn’t work, open WhatsApp on your iPhone and select “Chats” in the “Settings” tab.
Then select “Move chats to Android”.
Touch “Start” to continue. The transfer time will start on your Android device. Depending on the amount of data to be moved, it may take a few minutes.
Once it is complete, you can finish setting up the Android device. The supported applications will be downloaded to the device. After installing WhatsApp, you can log in and all your chat history will be waiting for you. You are all set and ready to go!
