How to set up a voicemail greeting on Android

Voicemail may seem like an outdated concept, but it is still a fundamental feature of telephones. Fortunately, it is much easier to set up a voicemail greeting message in smart phones than on landlines. We will show you how to do it on Android.

Set up voicemail greeting on Samsung Galaxy phones

For Samsung Galaxy phones, we will use the default phone app that comes pre-installed on the device. Begin by tapping the three-dot menu icon and selecting “Settings.”

You will see a number in the “Voicemail Number” list. Save the number and then return to the dialer.

Now, in the “Keypad” tab, enter the number and tap the green button on the phone to make the call.

If you already have a greeting, you will hear it. Touch “2” to record a new greeting.

That’s all about it! Using the marker to do all of this is not very easy to use, but you may have an easier method depending on what operator you have. If you have an app for your provider installed on your Galaxy phone, check to see if it includes voicemail settings.

Set up voicemail greeting on Google Pixel phones

Google Pixel phones come with the phone app the company pre-installed, which is what we’ll use here. You can also use this application on other phones, but the voicemail setup process may be different.

First, open the app and tap on the three-dot menu icon at the top right. Then select “Settings”.

This is where the process will vary depending on your mobile phone provider. Look for a microphone icon or “Record Greeting” option.

The message you just recorded is likely to be set as the default, but if it isn’t, you can choose from a list of greetings. You can record multiple greetings for different situations.
