Working with Mac OS

How to remove unwanted items from Open With on Mac?

During installation, most programs add their items to “Open with.” When uninstalling, the program, of course, does not remove its “tails” from “Open with.” Over time, many duplicates and deleted programs appear, which are annoying and annoying. But there is an easy way to heal.

If you see something like this, then this article is for you.

This problem can be solved with just one command in the terminal. We go into the utilities, select the terminal, and vibrate the command there:

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user

Make sure you don’t get a line break when you paste the command into the console. I recommend copying from here, pasting into TextEdit, and making one long line. Then the command will work.

And as a result, our “Open With” is neat.
