How to open camera from pixel lock screen

Android 12 added a lot of new features to Google Pixel devices, but it also removed some. The camera shortcut that has been around for a long time on the lock screen is gone. So how do you quickly open the camera?

Fortunately, Android devices have a few different methods for quickly launch camera . Google Pixel devices are no different. The lock screen shortcut was helpful, but it’s not really the fastest method. There is something even better.

A quick summary: Google Pixel devices running Android 12 have two lock screen shortcuts: the smart home device controls and the wallet. Previously, those two shortcuts were for the phone and the camera.

To launch the camera without the lock screen shortcut, just press the power button twice. The chamber will open immediately.

This works from anywhere. That includes the lock screen and when the screen isn’t even on. Just press the power button twice and the camera will start. Easy peasy.

Note: This does not bypass security on your lock screen. Just open the camera. You will need to properly unlock your Pixel phone to exit the camera.

There: Already you won’t have to worry about lose you for a moment because you couldn’t get the camera out fast enough. It’s a bit weird that Google removed this shortcut, but it makes sense with the ability to launch the camera with the power button.
