How to disable pop-up blocker in Safari on Mac

Safari Block all kinds of pop-ups by default. In that mix, you end up blocking some legitimate ones. Here’s how you can disable the pop-up blocker in Safari for all websites or a few specific ones on Mac.

Many websites offer helpful pop-ups for entering important details like login credentials, captcha, forms, and more. So it makes sense to allow pop-ups for certain websites.

How to disable pop-up blocker for all websites in Safari

It’s annoying to click on the blocked pop-up notification every time you visit sites that require you to allow pop-ups. Fortunately, you can change the default behavior of Safari and get pop-ups while browsing.

To get started, open the Safari browser on your Mac. Then click on “Safari” in the upper left corner of the menu bar and select “Preferences”.

In the “General” column on the left, scroll down and select “Pop-ups.”

Use the drop-down menu next to the “When visiting other websites” option at the bottom left and choose “Allow”.

How to disable the pop-up blocker for a specific website in Safari

If you want to allow pop-ups for a specific website (like a banking site), Safari allows you to do that too. First, open Safari on your Mac, then navigate to the websites for which you want to allow pop-ups.

Then click on “Safari” in the menu bar and select “Preferences”.

In Safari Preferences, click on the “Websites” tab.

Scroll down the “General” column and select “Pop-ups.”

On the right, you will see the list of open websites in Safari and the “Block and notify” option configured for each site. Use the drop-down menu next to a site and select “Allow.” Repeat the same to allow pop-ups for the other websites on the list.
