How to disable home screen audio and video previews on Android TV

Google tv introduced a completely revamped home screen experience. Parts of this new interface have made their way to the devices Android TV older , including video and audio home screen previews. If you don’t like them, you can disable them.

As the line between Google TV and Android TV se becomes more blurry, not everyone is happy with the way the home screen interface has changed. One thing that many people seem to dislike is the previews that play automatically when you select them. Fortunately, it is very easy to disable them.

First, use the arrow buttons on your remote to select the gear icon in the upper right corner of the home screen.

The last thing you need to do is simply turn off “Enable video previews” and “Enable audio previews”.


Ready! The home screen will no longer play previews with video or audio. Autoplay previews can be really annoying, so it’s good that Android TV allows you to disable them completely.
