- A USB Drive or an external drive with a minimum of 16GB free space.
- macOS Mojave Installer File. (Links provided below)
Create macOS Mojave Bootable Installer for Fresh Installation: 2 Step Guide
Step 1: You need to download the latest version of the macOS Mojave Installer File directly from Apple Store.
Below are the download links that you can use to directly download macOS Mojave installer file from Apple Store.
Once the downloading is complete, exit the installer application. You can simply see the snapshot below and follow the steps-
To check whether you have downloaded the right file, browse to your Finder > Application and look out for the macOS Mojave Installer file. Its an .app file. See the snapshot below for the confirmation.
Step 2: Create macOS Mojave Bootable Installer for Fresh Installation
The process is very easy and technical at the same time. So make sure you are following each and every step carefully or you will end up with a corrupt installer.

The next step is to erase your USD Drive’s previous contents and convert them into a compatible format. For this, open your Disk Utility and select your USB (in my case, it is Install macOS Catalina, see the below snapshot). Select the USB and click Erase and choose the required format as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled).
Enter the title of your USB– this title will be used in the next step. Try to keep it easy to remember. In my case I am using USBFlashDrive. Refer to the snapshot below.
After successfully erasing the USB, close the Disk Utility.
Next step is to open your LaunchPad and search for Terminal and open it.
You will see a set of line starting with Last Login time and date. Now, copy paste the following lines in your terminal.
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Mojave.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USBFlashDrive
Note: USBFlashDrive is the title of your USB that you have kept while Erasing the disk.
Enter your password and wait for the process to finish.

How to Install macOS Mojave from Bootable Installer
- Insert the macOS Mojave Bootable Installer USB to your MAC.
- Restart your Mac.
- Power to the Mac and hold on to the Options button on the keyboard.
